Cast Glass

While studying under Gene Koss, I carved a mold from solid wooden blocks to hold hot glass as it took the shape of a chosen form. My mold was inspired by the architectural landmark Piazza d’Italia, located in New Orleans’ Central Business District. I soaked the mold when I wasn’t casting so that I could hydrate the wood and keep it damp to last longer.
